105 Ironman Triathlons In 105 Days, features Sean Conway who has broken the world record for continuous Ironman Triathlons.

105 Ironman Triathlons In 105 Days

This podcast features Sean Conway. In 2013 he became the first person to have swam the length of Great Britain. He has also ran and cycled the same route. In 2016, Sean took on over 4000 miles, completing continuous Ultra Triathlons. He has also cycled unsupported across Europe. This year he has broken the world record.

Transcript from ‘105 Ironman Triathlons In 105 Days’ podcast

Sean – Some muscles aren’t activating. My my right glute’s not activating, my lower right back is tight because I have a much stronger pull on my right hand side. I dislocated the shoulder doing the cheese rolling in 2009. So you know it’s it all sort of started with probably my over strong right pull stroke with an over rotation. This left arm is rubbish so there’s a lot of issues but I think it probably started in the swim and then on the bike. I was possibly got some saddle sores on my right hand side, so I think all I did is I tilted my hip at the wrong angle.

How To Manifest Abundance | John Merrill #354

How To Manifest Abundance, features John Merrill, who has worn out 152 pairs of boots, walking around the world carrying no water!

How To Manifest Abundance | John Merrill

How To Manifest Abundance, features John Merrill, who has world records documented in over 520 books and has walked 228,500 miles around the planet WITHOUT carrying water or making a plan!

Transcript from ‘How To Manifest Abundance’ podcast

John – I bought this ultra lightweight rain jacket and I tell you, it got you wet through with sweat. I couldn’t wear it and I had to keep taking my t-shirt off to just wear the jacket. No, I I’d rather get soaked, be comfortable and carry on walking. It takes a certain amount of miles to sort of get your fitness. Then it takes a certain amount of miles to get in your stride. Then there’s a certain amount of miles where maybe you’re past it. Well the first 500 miles is settling down and getting used to walking every day. Then being outside and carrying a load. So I say people who walked the Penang way, you haven’t begun but after 500 miles you’re getting more into it.

When you get to a thousand miles, you’re totally at one with everything and you’re totally at peace. Bears can just walk in front of me and you’re not worried. If it happened in the first week, you’d be afraid to death. But when you get to 1500 miles, you’re at your peak performance.

Our BATTLE In The Desert | Chris Thrall & Brian Wood MC #352

Our BATTLE In The Desert, features Brian Wood MC, who won the Military Cross for gallantry in combat & courageous leadership in Iraq.

Our BATTLE In The Desert

Our Battle In The Desert, features Brian Wood MC. Brian was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry in combat, for courageous leadership in Iraq. He was later summoned for unfound war crimes, which eventually led to full vindication. His story is now the subject of a BBC2 film, Danny Boy and he has been open about his struggles with PTSD. He also supports Walking With The Wounded’s mental health programme.

Transcript from ‘Our BATTLE In The Desert’ podcast

Brian – I think we’ve raised about half a million. I was running for the fallen, who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Falklands as well. It just got so much momentum and I had my target of twenty thousand pounds. I thought that was really ambitious and I probably wouldn’t get there, but it’s a good target to have. Then it just went to the moon and everyone just seemed to get behind me. I went for 35 days, 35 marathons and then halfway through, I flew to the Falklands and ran four marathons there.

SAS LEGEND Of Survival | John ‘Lofty’ Wiseman | Special Air Service #285

SAS Legend Of Survival, features John ‘Lofty’ Wiseman whom spent 26 years in the Special Air Service, and write best-selling survival books.

SAS LEGEND Of Survival | John ‘Lofty’ Wiseman | Special Air Service

John ‘Lofty’ Wiseman is a true legend of the British Special Air Service. He joined the Parachute Regiment in 1958 and immediately applied to join the SAS. He set the record as being the youngest person to ever pass selection, at just eighteen years of age! John served with the SAS for over 26 years and rose to the rank of Sergeant Major, B Squadron. His impressive record includes being Head of Operational Research and training the first members of the US Green Berets to return to the USA, to form their Delta Force.

He also founded the SAS Counter-Terrorist Team. On retiring from the regiment, his commanding officer said of him, ‘Lofty is a legend in this regiment’. John’s also been named the ‘Godfather of every major US Tier One Unit’. Lofty’s SAS Survival books have been international best-sellers and still to this day, provide invaluable advice for almost any emergency situation.

Transcript from ‘SAS LEGEND Of Survival’ podcast

John – I was teaching survival in the regiment and the course notes were terrible. It was inaccurate so I thought the first thing I’ll do is get some good handouts. So I started getting everything together and that was the basics of the book. I took it to my colonel and he said, look go and get this published. That was his advice to me, so I added stuff to make it applicable to everyone, for all ages and and before I knew it, I’d come out of the army and the book was printed. It gave me the pedigree to then open my survival score and I’ve never looked back. It’s still in production now.

I Lost EIGHT Stone & RAN A 100-MILE Ultramarathon | Podcast #248

I Lost eight stone & ran a 100 mile ultramarathon, features Richard Wilcox, a veteran of the Staffordshire Regiment.

I Lost EIGHT Stone & RAN A 100-MILE Ultramarathon

Richard Wilcox served with the Staffordshire Regiment. After suffering with PTSD, Richard became seriously overweight during the first lockdown period in 2020. He decided to change his lifestyle. After watching videos of ultra running online, he was inspired to take up the sport. He signed up for a 100 mile race and spent a year in intense training. By the end of that year, he’d lost eight stone in the process.

Richard has now taken on 30 marathons in thirty days, to raise money for the mental health charity, Combat Stress. In total, Richard ran for 150 hours and covered more than 790 miles. He’d climbed a total elevation of 61,582ft, equating to getting to the summit of Everest twice. So far, his extraordinary efforts have raised just over £1,500 for Combat Stress. Thank you to Andrew Marshall for bringing Richard’s story to our attention.

Transcript from ‘I Lost EIGHT Stone & RAN A 100-MILE Ultramarathon’ podcast

Richard – I used to get pretty out of breath just going up the stairs and just walking up a slight incline. A hill would have me out of breath and I would have to stop if it was a big hill. There was one ill on holiday and it was probably about 500 meters, with quite a steep incline. I’d stop off wide just for a breather and my grandkids on another holiday were making fun of me.

A Royal Marines SPECIAL | Atlantic Dagger

Atlantic Dagger are a team of both serving and veteran marines who have rowed across the Atlantic Ocean. Their epic challenge started from Gran-Canaria last December and finished in Barbados after a gruelling 3000 mile slog.

Transcript from ‘A Royal Marines SPECIAL’ podcast

Jason – I took part in Harriet nine with 42 commando. It was a good experience. I’ve done a wide variety of soldiering. We were doing anything from intel-gathering, to finding I.E.D factories and we were battling with the insurgents. It’s definitely a valuable experience and one of the highlights of my career.

Conor – Oscar came up with the idea of combining the two teams as Mitch and I had a bit of experience on the boats.

14 PEAKS The Nimsdai Story | MBE SBS | Bought The T-Shirt #229

14 Peaks the Nimsdai story features Nimsdai Purja who is one of the world’s greatest mountaineers and veteran of the Special Boat Service.

14 PEAKS The Nimsdai Story

Nimsdai was born in Nepal and like his father and brothers before, signed up to join the Gurkhas. Nims then passed selection for the UK’s special-forces and served another ten years with the Special Boat Service. After leaving the forces, Nims has gone on to become one of the world’s greatest mountaineers. He has accumulated an ever-growing list of record-breaking climbs and rescue missions. After one such mission, Nims was awarded an MBE for outstanding achievement in high-altitude mountaineering. His Netflix documentary, ’14 Peaks’, follows his attempt to summit all 14 of the world’s ‘Death Zone’ peaks in just seven months.

Transcript from ’14 PEAKS The Nimsdai Story’ podcast

Nims – Thank you Chris. You know it’s a really humbling. Everything I do in life, I give one-hundred percent and writing this book was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I’m not sure if i’m going to write another book if i’m honest. When you write something, it becomes black and white, then it becomes concrete. To write this amount of an enormous book up to this stage, it’s kind my autobiography. I grew up in a very small humbling background with almost nothing. To joining The Gurkhas, failing on the first attempt and then making it happen. Then going into the special forces and serving with the elite forces for ten years.

Royal Marines veterans take on the infamous 9-mile speed march

Royal Marines veterans, take on the infamous 9-mile speed march. The event was held at Spean Bridge in Scotland, in aid of The Royal Marines charity, who are celebrating 75 years with their work.

Left to Right: Lt Col Gaz Veacock RM, Mne Ross Cooney RMR, Capt X RM, Gunner Daz Adams RA, Cpl Andy Dunkin RM,
Mne Chris Thrall RM, LCpl Jase Paterson RM, Cpl Rick Coulson RM, Cpl Steve Boden RM, WO1 Mac McMillan RM and Ralphy (the dog)

Chris Thrall

I’m proud of the boys. At fifty-plus years, we demonstrate the Royal Marines Commando ethos, that we never leave a man (or woman) behind. Be proud to talk about mental-health, because Royal Marines do!

Royal Marines veterans take on the infamous 9-mile speed march

By Cpl (Rtd) Steve Boden RM

An RMA North Devon led team of both current and former Royal Marines recently completed the Spean Bridge Train Station – Achnacarry Speed March in support of RMA – The Royal Marines Charity.

It was also completed to raise awareness of the ongoing Mental Health challenges faced within the RM and across all the Armed Forces. This iconic route was first undertaken by Commando’s during WWII, whereby when individuals arrived at the Spean Bridge Train Station, they had to complete the 7-mile (11Km) route to Achnacarry Castle with equipment and weapons, within an hour. Those who were unsuccessful were returned to their unit the following day. This speed march was not only relevant 80 years ago, but also remains key today were a comparable march (9-mile) is completed as one of the Commando Tests at CTCRM. It remains a rite of passage with gaining the coveted green beret.
