James – The idea is that the NPC’s can be essentially weaponized against the people who are not NPC’s. We’ve seen that over the past and certainly over the last several years, of the growing snitch-state. The inculcation of this idea that you’ve got to be watching out what your neighbors are doing. Or they might have said the wrong thing, thought the wrong thing or done the wrong thing. If you see something, say something all of that kind of stuff that has been going through the culture more and more.

I think this is leading towards something and that is essentially the of course a top-down hierarchical tyranny. It’s an ever-present threat to humanity and the horizontal tyranny in some ways is even more scary. The idea that it’s not necessarily the jack-booted thugs who are going to storm in and rescue. It’s going to be your neighbours spying on you all the time.
