Antony – That was at the time when I became a Libertarian. There are a lot of ways that Libertarian policies would solve poverty or reduce poverty. People didn’t understand them and Libertarians didn’t talk about them much. I was talking about poverty and they think that if you like free markets and capitalism, you must just hate the poor. So I kind of wrote to address that it’s a little bit of a Trojan horse. It’s called UBI for and against and I did try and mount the best argument I could in favor of UBI. Fundamentally I’m against it, so it’s the only comprehensive critique of the UBI scheme that I’m aware exists. The government has interfered with housing and made the cost of accommodation so high.

Mario – First of all we need to understand central banks. They’re only there because the the government gives them the monopoly. In the case of the bank of England, it was the Royal Charter in 1694. What we had here, was a marriage between these money lenders that you talk about and the government. Why do they do that, well because the money lenders benefit from the fact that they’re lending to a nation. When you lend to nations, you make a lot more profit. The monarch or the president or whatever the government has the power of taxation. So it’s almost like the bankers will never lose out because the head of state can always tax and they can always find crisis.
