The Real Sound Of Freedom, features Richard Aviles who is a former military policeman in the US Army. Serving as a Special Reactions Team operator, he saw duty in Iraq. He has spent years handling many cases regarding mistreated children.

Richard – It was there that I had my first encounter with a child trafficking victim. We ended up finding a lot of them and we started like triangulating their whereabouts. We’d say, okay they’re only shooting from these two spots, so we’ve got to put security here. We’re finding the bodies at this time and we end up running into this car where the kid didn’t want to keep his hands up. We end up pegging the car. When we checked inside, we found out it’s a 16 year old. When we did ballistics, we checked everything including checking fingerprints. It was him, he was the guy who was killing our guys and he was what’s called a child of war. Which means they’re part of the branch of human trafficking.

It was shocking to see a kid that age, who was willing to commit such crimes. When we sat him down and we started talking to him, he just openly admitted to everything.
