Royal Marines Mountain Leader (ML) RSM Baz Gray
Regimental Sergeant Major Baz Gray served with the Royal Marines’ elite Mountain and Arctic Warfare Cadre as both a mountain leader (ML) and course instructor. A trained sniper, Baz has served on operations in several conflicts, including Afghanistan and in recent years, he has skied solo and unsupported to the South Pole in Antarctica. Tomorrow, Baz will attempt to run EIGHTY MILES NONSTOP to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the formation of the COMMANDOS and to raise funds for the Royal Marines Charity. (Links below). C – Baz how are you brother?
B – Really well Chris, great to see you. I haven’t seen you in quite a while with the stuff going on, so it’s great to see your face mate.
C – Yes mate, and yours too. How are you feeling about tomorrow.
B – I’m ready, I’m a bit like you mate, I sort of decided to do this quite late, but fortunately I look after myself and do quite a lot of running anyway. My escape tends to be out on the moors near where I live, so I’ve really knuckled down and focused on doing this run in the last couple of weeks properly. It’s probably not the sort of time you should be giving yourself into an eighty mile run but…
