Danny Rampling is one of the original founders of the UK’s rave scene and he’s also a famous radio presenter. He served with the Parachute Regiment in 10 Para and is a leading activist in the global freedom movement. With a career stretching back to the early 1980’s, Danny was the first winner of the No. 1 DJ in the world, by DJ Magazine and a winner of their lifetime achievement award, selling over one million compilation albums.

Danny – My love for music started at a very young age, through my mother having the radio on. My father worked at a printers so he’d either be sleeping during the day or at work.

I loved records at family parties and I used to put the records on. I just loved music from a very young age. My imagination was making this picture of the studio on on a ship, somewhere off the coast in the Atlantic. That’s where it started, collecting records at a very young age and I wanted to be on the radio.
