Of those singles included was the number one smash, ‘China In Your Hand’. That song alone sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK, eventually going quadruple platinum.

C – By the time I got my record deal with Virgin records, I was twenty-six and by the time we were recording the album I was twenty-seven. So I was pushing thirty when China in your hand was at number one. The years went by really quickly so I wasn’t actually that young. I’d been knocking around a long time in local bands and just trying to trying to catch a break. It didn’t come easily, it was very hard.
