C – Sean, I usually say how are you brother, but for some reason that doesn’t seem entirely appropriate, considering what the hell you and your family have just been through. But I’ll say it anyway, how are you mate?

S – I’m pretty good actually, because obviously for those who haven’t heard, my house was set on fire. I stood up to anti-social behaviour online. My car, caravan and house were set on fire while we were asleep at night. The outpouring of support has been amazing and from my family, it’s just something to behold. With it, I’m going to use this platform to make positive changes to anti-social behaviour and that’s keeping my spirits up. A lot of people are taking solace from the the fact that someone stood up to be heard. That’s what I want everyone to do. So my spirits are good and the kids are a little bit oblivious to what’s gone on because their only five and seven. My missus is struggling to be honest.

C – So massive hello to all our friends at home, today I have the absolute delight of being joined Clare Vosper. Clare is the wife of Chris Vosper who if you haven’t seen it already, I really suggest you watch the podcast I did with Chris. Fascinating guy, amazing history from the Royal Marines to flying Apache gunships in Afghanistan. Chris and Clare now run V-Force which is lots of things and I won’t try and sum it all up now but it’s basically a Special Forces driving experience, very high Octane stuff.

C – And I want to say great on achieving your 200 mile run, definitely well done!

C – So for those that don’t know instead of spending Christmas with the family I set out to run 200 miles instead.

C – We’re in awe of you as ever.

HB – Hi Mr Thrall it’s a pleasure to have a bit of your time, I really appreciate it. If we could talk about the Falklands a bit, is that what we’ve got on the docket today?

C – You can see just by looking at your channel and for everybody watching I suggest you do, you’ve got a fairly in depth understanding of history, compared to someone like myself and I think we could talk forever, but shall we talk about the Falklands?

HB – Yeah, I would really like to, it’s one of things when I first got in touch with you that really sprung to mind, with of course your history with the Royal Marines. Just to put it in a bit of context I’d like to say early on that neither of us where there if anyone’s under any weird idea. |I wasn’t even one years old, I was born in 1981 and I hadn’t even had my first birthday when the action went down on the Falklands there. I imagine you were ten or twelve at the time, that sort of age but it’s part of your regimental history.

I had an email recently from a former special forces veteran, that said I need to speak to you and I’m aware of your work because I think just being in this field you get to know what certain people are doing, especially the movers and shakers. Hence we’re having this chat. I think we share not just joint concerns about let’s call it the appropriation of our very loyal military, but I know you and I see at at a structural level which I why I welcome you onto the podcast. It’s quite difficult for me because I don’t like to talk about the good guys and bad guys, it’s just not that helpful. What I like to do is look at what’s happening in the world today. Why is it like this? Who is controlling it?

The BBC film and docudrama, ‘Battle Of Danny Boy’ Brian Wood MC, features Brian Wood MC chatting with Chris Thrall. The soldier was falsely accused by disgraced lawyer, Phil Shiner, of war crimes during The Iraq war. Shiner’s firm were behind 65% of the allegations received by IHAT.

Brian Wood MC, former Colour Sergeant with The Princes of Wales Royal Regiment, was awarded the Military Cross. This is one of Britain’s highest awards for gallantry in combat, by Her Majesty The Queen II, following his courageous leadership under enemy fire in Iraq. In the heat of a lethal close quarters battle, fighting outnumbered, he seized the initiative, taking a split-second decision to lead his men into the teeth of enemy fire. C – So Spud, is there something that makes people stay around Hereford after they’ve served.

N – Umm, no, well I love it. I’m a city boy and I’m a country boy, but I wouldn’t say there’s much to keep the lads around here. As a percentage I guess there’s very few of us who live here. Most of the guys move back home or overseas. I mean the camp is only five miles away from me as the crow flies, from my place. It’s nine miles away and I’m on the flight path to the Beacons, I get a lot of air traffic sometimes, but they don’t fly low enough for me. They always stay up high and I think they should get a bit of low level training!

C – So Spud, how old were you when you joined the parachute regiment, did you join the paras first?

C – Mike, how are you brother?

M – Yep, well, good to hear you, good to see you.

C – So you’ve started a group called Veteran For Action, why is that?

M – It’s Veterans For Truth. When I was in America, I was part of a thing called Veterans for Peace, and I don’t really think you can get peace without truth so I started Veterans for Truth and yeah we did a whole tour, I mean this was after 9/11. I was a commercial pilot on the day of 9/11 and so obviously I knew the official story was a lie, so I got involved with the anti war movement on the West coast. I ended up working for a congressman and presidential candidate because of that work. The whole anti war movement is run by the war mongers really and I was really limited in what I was allowed to do. We travelled around the country but they didn’t want me to talk about the most powerful lobby group in Washington DC that controls both sides of the house, congress and senate. Democrat or Republicans, it’s all theatre and having worked for a congressman and presidential candidate you can see politics is like Hollywood for ugly people…

C – My pleasure, it’s been brilliant. I’m catching up with all these brothers I’ve never met and you can’t argue with that can you?

M – Yeah I’ve just seen you’ve done a podcast with Josh Pelland. I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, but I’m going to get into that later.

C – He’s a lovely man you know.

M – Certainly is yeah.

C – He kind of epitomizes that kind of elite special forces thing, because you know a lot of them are just really nice guys that just want to be professional soldiers, you know what I mean.

M – Josh’s story is pretty compelling isn’t it. You know coming from abroad, from Canada, all the stuff he did and what he’s gone through recently, I’m looking forward to catching up on that episode.

C – I found it really quite upsetting, because he’s so nice and the way he talks about his accident, there’s not even the slightest bit of feeling sorry for himself…
