Chris and Richie
C – Richie how are you brother?
R – Yeah I’m good mate how are you, thanks for having me on.
C – It’s my pleasure mate, anything about Everest, I’m all ears and I’ve got big enough ears as it is. So when you sent your email to me, it’s fascinating stuff. You spent a lot of time in Thailand I believe?
R -Yeah I was living there, between work in the Middle East and holidaying in the Himalayas.
C – I loved every single minute of being in Thailand, even when I got my nose broken by a Thai doorman.
R – Happens a lot that sort of thing.
C – It was still a great night! Little tip for you there folks, if you ever get mugged in a Thai bar by the bar staff, which they used to do. I’m not sure what it’s like in the modern tourism world there. Rather than trying to fight the bouncer, just go and speak to the tourist police and they’ll get your money back for you.
R – You don’t fight one, you fight ten as well.

Transcript snippet from ‘Undercover Cop Exposes UK Gang Truth | Neil Woods’ podcast
Chris and Neil
C – Hi everyone, glad you could join us for this episode with Neil Woods, as he has a fantastic story as one of the most successful undercover policeman this country has had. I’m privileged to know two former undercover police detectives, one of which has had to overcome some huge issues with trauma. I also had Peter Blexley on the show who speaks very, very highly of Neil being one of the countries leading detectives. So thank you on behalf of the podcast Neil, shall we go back to when you first joined to police force, which I’ve just been reading about.
N – Yeah if you’d like. I joined the police in 1989. The reason I did that, seeing as I didn’t have a boyhood ambition to join the police force. I wasn’t one of these people that always wanted to do it. I went to university by mistake, why I ever thought I was going to enjoy a business studies course, I’ve no idea! So I dropped out of that and considered what to do next, one of which was to backpack around Europe because a few friends had done that and it sounded adventurous. Then I saw an advert for the police in the newspaper and unable to make my mind up I flipped a coin. So I was literally flippant about my career choice. Then when I got into the police force I did feel that sense of duty, that I had to do a good job, but I was crap at it! I was no good at all, I almost lost my job several times in the first couple of years.

Chris and Tony
C – Tony, how are you brother?
T – Good, nice to meet you Chris.
C – Yes, you as well, it’s the joys of podcasting, I get to meet some amazing people. All of whom have been just wonderful individuals. Also it’s not bad getting paid to chat is it?
T – I can think of worse things, we’ve been in worse situations haven’t we?
C – Can you imagine they had podcasting back when we had to do guard duty! We could have knocked out loads! So, as I’ve said to you before, my fans love all things military. There’s loads we could just talk about on that alone, and as I’m rapidly learning there’s so many people that have suffered some form of trauma. I think it’s the nature of the society we’re in that seeks to frighten us all the time. It’s set up to put fear in us through the media, and we’ve got this culture that makes people feel bad about themselves through the beauty and health magazines. So I’m just figuring out that it seems everyone has suffered some form of trauma.

Chris and AJ
C – AJ how are you brother?
AJ – I’m very well Chris, thanks for having me on bro.
C – Ahhh mate it’s my pleasure, you’ve been very kind in having me on twice now, and my gosh, I’m hoping to become a better man after the end of this chat with your super skills!
AJ – It’s a pleasure having you on mate, the feedback I’ve had so far has been really, really good. I had a few people message me who’d never heard about you before, and it was great so I hope you got a few more followers out of it.
C – Mate, it’s all a bit weird to be honest, sorry I’m shining the spotlight back onto me there, which is something we can touch on later, it’s amazing the amount of peoples lives you can reach through this media. Just being myself and that’s all I ever try to be. When you get stuff put back on you like that, let’s just say it’s weird. I still don’t know what to make of it all really.

Chris and Anthony
C – Anthony, how are you mate?
A – I’m good mate. I’m very good. How is it in your part of the world?
C – Well, I’m never going to complain anyway! You get one life, if you want to spend it depressed, I’ve done all that shit mate and I’m not doing it again.
A – You’re right, you’ve got one life and you live it to the full mate, that’s what it’s about.
C – My first question, is it true that the Royal Marines are better than the Paras?
A – What I’m going to say about that one is the new advertising poster ‘Ready for Anything’ is outstanding! At the end of the day, if you can’t have a bit of banter with fellow servicemen, then there’s something wrong. The Marines respect the Paras and the Paras respect the Marines. So at the end of the day we all get the job done.

C – Hi Daz, how are you brother?
D – Yep, not too bad buddy thank you.
C – So, first off we should say a big thank you to Claire Vosper for putting us in touch. Hello Claire! For those watching that’s Claire from V-Force who we’re going to be doing some driving with later in the year. Mate, from what I see you’ve been hitting it quite hard.
D – Hahaha, you could say that, it’s been pretty full on, in a pandemic. Basically, doing as much and trying to raise as much money as possible under these difficult circumstances.
C – I had a look at your social media and gosh you’ve been putting yourself through the pain barrier, so go back to beginning, how did all this start?
