Rich Jones served with the 3rd Royal Tank Regiment. Upon leaving the British Army he found himself directionless and became heavily involved in organised crime. Eventually his underworld criminal cocaine network was taken down by the police and he received a 15-year prison sentence. Rich left this life behind him and is now an author and a veterans support speaker, teacher, mentor and course creator.

Red Arrows To 747 Pilot | Sqn Ldr Andy Wyatt

Andy started his career in the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 1979 and after completing flying training flew the iconic English Electric Lightning with 11(F) Squadron at Royal Air Force Binbrook in Lincolnshire. His duties included intercepting intruding Russian aircraft during the height of the Cold War. 4 years flying the Lightning was followed by a tour as a flying instructor at Royal Air Force Valley in Anglesey, flying the British Aerospace Hawk, where Andy taught student pilots and instructors in the advanced flying role. He was selected to join the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, The Red Arrows, for a 3 year tour of duty.

Andy was awarded the Queen’s Commendation for Valuable Services in the Air and on promotion to Squadron Leader. Andy joined British Airways as a Captain on the Boeing 747 ‘Jumbo Jet’, flew long haul routes around the world. He is currently the Chief Pilot for Longtail Aviation, an international cargo airline based in Bermuda. Andy has flown a vast number of aircraft and now has over 20,000 hours of flying experience.

From the Red Arrows to commercial airline pilot. Anyone who grew up in my era watched a film called Airplane, it was a spoof of all the jumbo jet movies of the seventies and eighties.

On Bank Holiday Monday, 31st May 1993. I was arrested in Birmingham by armed police officers. I was subsequently charged with possession of weapons. There was also a second charge of possession with intent to supply persons unknown, with intent to endanger the lives of persons unknown. After pleading guilty, I was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment by Birmingham Crown Court. My sentence began as a Category A prisoner in HMP Winson Green. At the time of my arrest, I was the O/C (Officer Commanding) Ulster Defence Association London Brigade. On release from prison I engaged in many discussions regarding the structuring of the peace process. On Wednesday 18th May 2011. I was sitting in the National War Memorial Gardens in Dublin. I had been invited by Her Majesty the Queen. The transition had been made.

F – My wife describes me as a bit, well very complex. Which is ok when it’s positive, it’s not too good when it’s negative.

C – I think we’re all a bit complex, especially those of us who have a story to tell.

Robert was a platoon sergeant in the United States Marine Corp (USMC) who was later attached to the Royal Marines at the training centre in Lympstone and passed the elite commando course. He was an elite swimmer scout who went on to become a police officer in the SWAT team.

For our friends at home Jamie is the ultimate adventure warrior, in that beautiful sense that most of us want to do, but most people will probably never make time for. I’m talking all the adventures you want. The running, the cycling, the global exploration. I’ve been hearing about all these amazing one off feats of endurance, and then there’s guys like you. You haven’t stopped hitting it have you Jamie?

J – I think the big difference between the adventuring I do and other people is I don’t pursue records of any sort or anything like that. The WOW factor of breaking a record just doesn’t interest me. I’m just a guy that does what he does because I love it and I try to make a living out of it wherever I can.

Peter Bleksley is a former New Scotland Yard detective, presenter and author. Viewers of New Scotland Yard Files will most likely recognise him as the ‘The Chief’ on Channel 4’s Hunted from 2015 until 2019. Bleksley joined the Metropolitan Police force in 1978 and his first posting was to Peckham police station in South London. A decade later, he went on to create the Scotland Yard’s Undercover SO10 unit.

P – I’m very good thank you and perhaps I should say knowing what mental health means to you, in these challenging times. It’s also a passion of mine after having a couple of catastrophic breakdowns myself in my lifetime. How are you today?

C – Yes, I’m ok Peter, I have my system. The system that’s taken me fifty one years to learn. It sees me through thick and thin. It’s not to say it’s not an awful time. It’s more awful for some than others obviously, and it’s going to be fatal to many others. My real concern isn’t the people who have had a bit of a blast on the plant but the children and where their futures going. The freedoms that I experienced growing up being able to fly around the world and get drunk in eighty five different countries. All of that is being taken away from them. Anyway I said I wasn’t going to get political and I have to play by Youtube’s rules…

SAS Captain to Mercenary | Political Prisoner | Simon Mann

Simon Mann is a British former Special Air Service (SAS) army officer and legendary condottiere (not mercenary as often wrongly labelled). Simon trained at Sandhurst and was commissioned into the Scots Guards. On leaving the military, he co-founded the private military company, Executive Outcomes and co-founded Sandline International with fellow ex-Scots Guards Colonel Tim Spicer in 1996, operating mostly in Angola and Sierra Leone. On 7 March 2004, Mann is alleged to have led the 2004 Equatorial Guinea coup d’état attempt. He was arrested by Zimbabwean police in Harare airport, along with 64 other private contractors – branded as ‘mercenaries’.

Simon served three years of a four-year prison sentence in Zimbabwe and less than two years of a 34 years and four months sentence in Equatorial Guinea. Simon is now a much-sought-after public speaker and consultant.
