DUDE Where’s My FREEDOM? | Carl Vernon | #195
Former Royal Marine Chris Thrall asks YouTube legend Carl Vernon ‘Dude, where’s my freedom?’ Carl is an internationally bestselling author, a social commentator and the voice of reason. He is a man that understands what happens when the world takes its eye off the ball.
Transcript from ‘DUDE Where’s My Freedom?’ podcast
Chris – I’m not going to look at myself as a coward. That must be a horrible thing to have to live with.
Carl – I think what’s interesting, what you said there Chris, is we are governed by our greatest fears and we live by them. Our greatest fears define what we do and what we don’t do.

Former Royal Marine Scott Heffield is a TV location scout, crew safety risk management manager and creative producer for such productions as Born Survivor (Man Vs Wild), Netflix, National Geographic, NBC, Discovery. He is also the man who protects Bear Grylls.
Transcript from ‘The Man Who Protects Bear Grylls’ podcast
Scott – I should add, being a police officer you see a side of life. A lot of people don’t. At the time I’d left the marines, I thought it was quite tough and then I joined the police. I realized that would toughen me up. You know, Thursday, Friday, Saturday night in a big town or city centre. With going from fight to fight, you soon have a different perspective on life I tell you. You know, different from the corps, not better or worse, just certainly different.

Man DOWN! | Afghanistan | Falklands | Northern Ireland | Podcast | #189
Former Royal Marine Corporal Ric Coulson served on multiple operational tours including Afghanistan, Iraq and Sierra Leone. Ric witnessed the savage, brutal nature of war fighting and he took part in close-quarter battle. Former Royal Marines Major, Andy Shaw, is a King’s Badgeman and Sword of Honour recipient. Andy experienced the utter horror of combat in the Falklands Conflict. What these two men don’t know about war, isn’t worth listening to. What they do know about its effects, is this.
Transcript from ‘Man DOWN!’ podcast
Andy – The war fighting wasn’t anything like what Ric has been through. The two main events that my organization went through, included an ambush that went badly wrong. It was a fighting patrol that was meant to go and destroy some enemy positions. We had a thing called a, ‘blue on blue’. That resulted in four fatalities and three men very seriously injured.

From The Royal Marines To A Satanic Coven | Brian Knox | #188
From The Royal Marines to a Satanic coven, features Brian Knox who found a life of violence, drugs & prison, before finding God. Brian shares with Chris, his life experience after being kicked out of The Royal Marines and finding his way into a life of crime. After becoming a drug-dealer and dabbling with a Satanist group, Brian found himself languishing in prison and re-evaluating his life. Fortunately, not only for Brian, but for his family too, he found Jesus to guide him out of the mire.
Transcript from ‘From The Royal Marines’ podcast
Brian – I found myself having deliverance from demons and it absolutely changed my life. I felt it inside me and due to the very sinful life I’ve lived, now I stand in the grace of God today. None of us are perfect and the word of God says, ‘None of us are righteous’. Everybody’s found guilty under the law of God.

Taken in Afghanistan, features Asad Qureshi chatting about his abduction by the Asian Tigers, whilst he was making a film in North Waziristan, interviewing Taliban leaders.
TAKEN In Afghanistan | Asad Qureshi | Podcast | #187
Asad Qureshi is a British filmmaker who was kidnapped on 26 March 2010 by a militant group calling themselves, The Asian Tigers. He was making a film in North Waziristan and interviewing Taliban leaders. Qureshi was accompanied by his driver, Rustam Khan and two senior members of the Inter-Services Intelligence. All four men were abducted and Khalid was killed. Asad and Rustam were released in September 2010, after they’d been held in captivity for one hundred and sixty five days. Colonel Imam was then executed in January 2011. The two men’s release was a rare occurrence, as the Pakistani Taliban had been known to kill most of their victims.
Transcript from ‘TAKEN In Afghanistan’ podcast
Chris – Hello Asad, you’ve said that you’re originally from Pakistan.
Asad – Yes I was born in Pakistan and we moved to England in the sixties.
Chris – Through your work, you’ve spent a lot of time in the middle-east. Do you get to go to Pakistan often?
Asad – Yes I moved to Pakistan to be closer to my parents.

The battle for Mount Longdon features James O’Connell, formerly of 3 Para, speaking about his experience during The Falklands War in 1982.
The Battle For Mount Longdon | A Falklands War Special | #186
Under cover of darkness 3 Para began their assault on Mount Longdon in June 1982. The three platoons of B Company each approached the mountain silently, treading carefully through a series of defensive minefields. Following on from an explosion, fighting quickly escalated with shocking speed and severity. The ensuing battle resulted in some of the harshest close-hand fighting experienced by British troops, since the Korean war.
Transcript from ‘The Battle For Mount Longdon’ podcast.
Chris – James, was it disappointing that you were being inserted by boat as opposed to coming from the sky?
James – With the distance you knew it wasn’t going to happen. We sailed down on the Camberra with all our parachute kit. We were ready to go any way we could. It would have been legendary wouldn’t it?

The World’s Hardest Man WOKE UP | Lee Morrison | #185

The World’s Hardest Man WOKE UP | Lee Morrison | #185
Former Royal Marines Commando Chris Thrall chats with Lee Morrison from Urban Combatives – a no-nonsense-approach fight school. Lee grew up in violence on the streets, but now focuses his efforts on tackling the oppression facing all of us.
Transcript from ‘The World’s Hardest Man’ podcast
Chris – I was looking at your stuff on the internet earlier. You look like the world’s hardest man.
Lee – Yes it’s not just about being how to handle yourself, it’s about being able to control your mind. I think it all comes down to that because you know, if you can control your thoughts on a regular basis you become a master of your thoughts. You can control your feelings and if you control your feelings, that’s your entire state of being so I think that’s very important. It’s not so much what goes on around us, although that’s horrendous enough, but it really comes down to how you respond to it.

Two years later, a British newspaper obtained his footage and the story led to outrage across the world. In March 2007, Martin approached three filmmakers to tell his story.
Transcript from ‘A National Disgrace’ podcast.
Chris – I will hold my hand up and say when I first saw that footage, because of the power of the media, it really just seems like, ‘Oh my God, this is British soldiers behaving badly. You know, what are they doing oh lads, you’re letting us down. When I watched your documentary again, I just felt the way it had been completely spun and yes, all of the backstory and the context was stripped out to make it look like you were the biggest, you know what on the planet.
Martin – What was it all for? I’ve spent the last ten years with therapists trying to figure out who I am. You’re always constantly looking back and reviewing. Through ‘Diary of a disgraced soldier’, I couldn’t have made that film any better, it’s just the untouched frustration of what what I’ve been through.

Fastest Man On Earth | Jason Hardrath | Podcast #181
Jason Hardrath is an extreme endurance athlete and a school P.E. teacher. He holds the fastest known time (or FKT in running language) for Mount McLoughlin. He made it to the 9,495-foot summit in just under an hour and three minutes. This extreme endurance athlete has also qualified for world-championships with the gruelling Ironman competitions. After a severe car-crash, he’s gone on to become an expert mountain-climber & he is currently in training for his next challenge – climbing some of The U.S.A.’s toughest peaks, back to back.
Transcript from ‘Fastest Man On Earth’ Podcast
Jason – I was just out chasing cool things I’d accumulated with rock climbing, mountaineering and orienteering skill sets. I’d also had a traumatic car accident that kind of took away my running for a while and when the running came back, I’d accumulated this skill set as part of my process of finding something to do with myself. When my running came back I was like, oh well now I’m going to run between these big mountain objectives and deep back-country things. So it made it really easy to go for fastest known times.
Chris – I think the thing we always need to remind ourselves is, some people are just really not very well and we have the same thing in the military. We call them Walter Mitties and they’re the these individuals that dress up with all the military regalia. One knows they’ve got the beret of some special forces unit and of course they’ve never served. It’s incredibly sad but I had one of these gentlemen on the podcast, who’s let’s use the word, recovered from this delusion. When it came down to it, he suffered some severe abuse as a child.

Not just the contents of the show. I’m actually proud of the fact for those whom don’t remember, God what was her name? Her name flipped through my head she was was the lady who was the moral arbiter of the U.K.
