He made it to the 9,495-foot summit in just under an hour and three minutes. This extreme endurance athlete has also qualified for world-championships with the gruelling Ironman competitions. After a severe car-crash, he’s gone on to become an expert mountain-climber & he is currently in training for his next challenge – climbing some of The U.S.A.’s toughest peaks, back to back.

Jason – I was just out chasing cool things I’d accumulated with rock climbing, mountaineering and orienteering skill sets. I’d also had a traumatic car accident that kind of took away my running for a while and when the running came back, I’d accumulated this skill set as part of my process of finding something to do with myself. When my running came back I was like, oh well now I’m going to run between these big mountain objectives and deep back-country things. So it made it really easy to go for fastest known times.

Chris – I think the thing we always need to remind ourselves is, some people are just really not very well and we have the same thing in the military. We call them Walter Mitties and they’re the these individuals that dress up with all the military regalia. One knows they’ve got the beret of some special forces unit and of course they’ve never served. It’s incredibly sad but I had one of these gentlemen on the podcast, who’s let’s use the word, recovered from this delusion. When it came down to it, he suffered some severe abuse as a child.

Chris – Now we’re gonna talk about Robin of Sherwood, which was which was huge in the nineteen eighties.

Mark – I don’t think that show could be made now Chris, to be honest with you. Not for the money and again, it was of its time and it was almost like a time capsule in a way. Not just the contents of the show. I’m actually proud of the fact for those whom don’t remember, God what was her name? Her name flipped through my head she was was the lady who was the moral arbiter of the U.K.

Peter – Well we were just going to go in there and do a house cleaning attack on it. Fighting in the built up area if you want to call it that with a gunship covering us. We had the whole place color coded.

A – I’d only really considered the impact that his actions, or lack of actions, had on my life after he passed away. I wasn’t actually free to judge him at all. I saw his pain and trauma but then when he wasn’t alive, it make me really think about how unsafe my childhood was and how I was honoring him in his death.

C – Let’s talk about his service because the Falklands is a big old thing for anyone to go through. Was he on the ground over there?

The film, ‘Who Dares Wins’, features Mark Ryan, a former British Intelligence operative, turned Hollywood actor. Mark’s long illustrious career, includes acting roles in, Robin of Sherwood, Frasier, Black Sails and numerous roles in the highly successful ‘Transformers’ franchise. Mark is also a successful writer and has worked with DC Comics, as well as writing several screenplays. Ryan’s autobiography, ‘Hold Fast’, details his life in which he has combined his acting career, with a secret existence as an operative of British Military Intelligence.

C – I should just say that Mark Ryan is a big Hollywood star. He is also a former intelligence operative, which is quite relevant to the video that I’d made with John Hegan the other day. Mark has also starred in the film, ‘Who Dares Wins’ alongside Lewis Collins.

He is an expert on Eliud Kipchoge’s successful sub-two-hour marathon attempt with those ‘magic’ running shoes.

C – One of the books I read was this fabulous one called ‘Running with The Kenyans’. It really puts you in the heart of the world’s best runners. I’m absolutely delighted today to have the author Adharanand Finn on the bought the t-shirt podcast. Adharanand, you are obviously legendary in the running world and you’ve written for some of the broadsheet newspapers. So how did it all start?

A – I was a journalist and I was writing for runner’s world magazine. I’d also contributed in writing for The Guardian.

The SAS were deployed to Mozambique on Monday night to help hunt for a missing British man Philip Mawer, who has not been heard from since attempting to flee the town of Palma last week.

Three members of the Special Air Service (SAS) have joined the search for a British man missing after an attack in Mozambique. The officers were deployed to the country on Monday night to help search for Briton Philip Mawer, who has not been heard from since attempting to flee the town of Palma last week.

C – Maybe I can talk a little about Mozambique itself and the history of how it’s got to be where it is today. So the gentleman’s name is Philip Moyer from Somerset and he has been kidnapped. Three members of the SAS have been deployed to join the search for Philip. He’s not been seen or heard, since gunman ambushed a vehicle last friday. Dozens of people have been killed in a five-day assault on Palmer in Mozambique.

SAS sniper Vs Olympic sharpshooter. Robin served as a sniper with the Parachute Regiment and 22 Special Air Service (SAS) from 1972 to 1984 and took part in the infamous Iranian Embassy Siege. Georgina is the British Shooting Team Coach and will represent Great Britain at the Paris 2024 Olympian.
